MANILA, PHILIPPINES — February 6, 2026 — Fastguys Logistics Corporation (FLC) is proud to announce the official launch and commissioning of its newest cargo ship, the MV Viana. The ceremony took place this morning at the Fortune Shipyard in Manila, marking a significant expansion of the company’s logistics fleet and its commitment to providing superior transport services across the Philippines.
The event was attended by the Shipowners of FLC, along with the vessel’s newly appointed crew, led by Captain Jose Masiglat Sanchez. Also in attendance were key representatives from the company’s headquarters, including personnel from the Operations, Human Resources, Accounting, Purchasing, and Information Technology departments.
In line with the company’s "Safety First" culture, the proceedings began with a mandatory safety briefing. Led by HR Event Organizer Ms. Angelica Kaye Herrera and the HR team, all attendees were outfitted with the necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) before boarding the vessel. This protocol underscored Fastguys Logistics' unwavering adherence to maritime safety standards.
In a display of the Group's integrated maritime capabilities, the M/Tug Phil-Samar, a tugboat, served as the primary bridge for the event. The tugboat provided a safe and stable passage, allowing the shipowners and attendees to board the MV Viana directly for the ceremonies, underscoring the synergy between the organization's logistics and maritime divisions.
The formal program commenced with a Holy Mass and vessel blessing officiated by Father Dom. The spiritual ceremony served as a moment of gratitude and a prayer for the protection of the MV Viana and its crew during its future voyages. Father Dom led the blessing of all sections of the cargo ship, including the bridge and engine room, symbolizing a prosperous start for the vessel.
The milestone was finalized with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting led by the Shipowners, officially bringing the MV Viana into the Fastguys Logistics fleet.
Following the shipyard ceremonies, the delegation transitioned to the Manila Yacht Club for a celebratory luncheon. The gathering served as a moment of camaraderie for the team whose collaborative efforts in procurement, technical integration, and human resources made the acquisition of the MV Viana possible.
"The launch of the MV Viana represents more than just an increase in our cargo capacity," said a representative of the shipowners. "It represents our dedication to the Philippine economy and our promise to deliver excellence to our clients."
FLC is a premier logistics and maritime provider in the Philippines. Specializing in efficient cargo transport and end-to-end supply chain solutions, the company continues to modernize its fleet to meet the evolving demands of the global and local market.
